Find My AirPods Case: How to Find a Lost AirPods Case
Open Find My and check whether your AirPods case appears separately. Newer supported cases may offer their own location or nearby controls. If the case has no separate result or discoverable signal, search the last place where you opened or charged it.
Before you start
Identify the AirPods and charging case model before relying on a case-specific feature.
Use Find My first when the case appears separately for your model.
An empty case without a discoverable radio cannot be found by a general BLE scan.
Search step by step
Open Find My, select the AirPods and check whether the case has its own location, sound or nearby option.
Go to the shown or last-known place. Check charging spots, bags, desks, sofa seams, bedding and the car.
If the earbuds may still be inside, open Bluetooth Finder and compare plausible nearby entries while moving slowly.
Confirm the physical case. A strong or named signal does not prove that a particular entry is yours.
Start with a Bluetooth scan.
Open Bluetooth Finder, choose a likely device and move slowly. A rising signal is a useful clue that you are getting closer.

Apple changes case-finding features by generation and software version. The Find My screen for the paired model is the final check.

If the case is empty
Do not assume the earbuds' Bluetooth behavior applies to the case. When Find My offers no separate case result and the empty case sends no discoverable signal, search the last place it was opened or charged.

Can Find My locate an AirPods case by itself?+
Some newer cases can appear separately in Find My. Availability depends on the AirPods and case generation, prior setup and current software.
Can Bluetooth Finder find an empty AirPods case?+
Only if the case exposes a signal that iOS can receive. Many empty or older cases do not provide a useful live signal.
Can I find a case with a dead battery?+
Not through a live Bluetooth scan. Check Find My for available last-known information and search that area.
